Powered by (2) 9-volt batteries, this water leveling tool offers maximum usage between battery changes. Its lightweight, pocket-sized, and portable design is ergonomically crafted for ease of use. The probe can quickly and easily be attached to the magnetic base when not in use or can hang from the handle prior to use. The magnetic base allows it to be fastened securely on any metal surface, such as a work van, for quick access. An On/Off switch conserves battery life, while the power drill nut driver attachment speeds up the winding and unwinding of the tape/cable, reducing fatigue. Operation is simple; the water leveling tool can be used at any angle and easily attached to any well, borehole, or standpipe with a metal surface. Each unit consists of a metal probe fitted to a flexible cable wire tape wound onto a hand-held reel with an ergonomic handle. The cable connects to an electronic circuit with 3 LED signal indicators powered by the (2) 9-volt batteries and includes an On/Off switch. The sensor probe features an insulated gap that acts as a switch, completing the circuit when it contacts water. The cable includes a non-stretch flexible wire/tape with copper conductors marked in 4” intervals or 10cm intervals, depending on the unit. For more accurate measurements, the ruler on the unit can be used along with the provided metal ruler. To measure depth, lower the probe down the borehole, standpipe, or well, taking care to keep the cable wire away from sharp edges. You can lower the probe manually or use the drill attachment. When the probe contacts water, the 3 LEDs illuminate, allowing you to take a reading from the measuring cable at the water level. Remember to turn off the unit afterward to conserve battery life. To measure depth accurately to the nearest ½”, use the cap’s ½” notched lines as a guide, placing the wire along the rubber sides and counting notches (e.g., 2 notches equal 1” & 6 notches equal 3”). Additionally, the distance between LEDs along the rubber sides is 4” (8 notches). Use the ruler markings on the magnetic base or the provided ruler for more accuracy once the closest footage distance is noted. Place the wire along the ruler, aligning the closest ft marker of the water depth to the zero point of the ruler, and add the distances from there. Winding of the water level meter cable can be done manually or with a drill. Specifications include a power supply of 2 x 9 Volt Batteries (included), a measuring cable/wire made of flexible silicone with copper, an On/Off button, 3 LED visual indicators, an 80 lb magnetic base for holding capacity, and an operating environment rated for outdoor use and waterproof. The battery life allows for 1000+ readings and 20 hours of LED illumination. The operating temperature ranges from -40°C to 55°C (-40°F to 130°F) with a response time of <100 milliseconds. Accessories include a carry bag, drill attachment (nut driver), wig-nut (handle replacement for drill use), and ball handle (only on 60M, 80M, 200ft & 250ft units). Markings are available every 4” for feet and 10cm for meters (use included rulers for more accuracy). The probe diameter is approximately 20mm.
