Features and Benefits - This versatile water leveling tool features a flexible tape/cable for easy winding and unwinding, even in cold temperatures. It boasts a waterproof design and includes permanent depth markings with extra tubing protection. The strong 80lb base magnet allows it to be placed at any angle on metal sections of boreholes, wells, or standpipes. The device is equipped with three bright LED signals that can be viewed from any angle, even in bright sunlight, up to 40 ft away. Powered by two 9-volt batteries, this water leveling tool provides maximum usage between battery changes. It's lightweight, pocket-sized, and portable, ergonomically designed for ease of use. The probe can quickly and easily be attached to the magnetic base when not in use or can hang from the handle prior to use. The magnetic base allows for quick and easy access by fastening it to a metal panel of a work van or any metal surface. An On/Off switch helps conserve battery life, while a power drill nut driver attachment can speed up the winding and unwinding of the tape/cable, preventing fatigue.  

Operation: The Water Level Meter can be used at any angle and can be easily attached to any well, borehole, standpipe, etc., that has a metal surface. Each Water Level Meter consists of a metal probe fitted to a flexible cable wire tape wound onto a hand-held reel with an ergonomic handle. The cable connects to an electronic circuit, three LED (light) signal indicators, and two 9-volt batteries with an On/Off switch. The sensor probe incorporates an insulated gap that acts as a switch, completing the circuit when it contacts water. The cable consists of a non-stretch flexible wire/tape with copper conductors marked in 4” intervals or 10cm intervals, depending on the unit. For more accurate measurements, the ruler on the unit can be used or the provided metal ruler. The probe is lowered into the borehole, standpipe, well, etc. Caution: Keep the cable wire away from any sharp edges. You can lower the probe by hand or use the drill attachment. When it contacts water, the three LEDs illuminate. A reading can then be taken from the measuring cable at the port level to record the depth. Ensure the unit is turned off after use to conserve battery life. For measuring depth to the closest ½”, use the cap’s ½” notched lines as a guide by placing the wire along the rubber sides and counting notches. For example, two notches equal 1”, and six notches equal 3”. Additionally, the distance between LEDs along the rubber sides is 4” (8 notches). Use the ruler markings on the magnetic base or the provided ruler for more accuracy once the closest footage distance is noted. Winding of the water level meter cable can be done manually by hand or with a drill.
